How it works
GST (Goods and Services Tax) in New Zealand is 15%. To add GST to a price, multiply by 1.15. To remove GST, divide by 1.15 (or multiply by 3/23). Businesses registered for GST can claim back the GST they pay on business expenses.

GST inclusive = exclusive × 1.15. GST exclusive = inclusive ÷ 1.15. GST component = inclusive × 3/23.
